Getting a phone service provider for your business is one of the things you need for starting and sustaining your everyday operational activities. Having a phone service is already a requirement. But do you know what else is required by your business? Getting a quality phone system it needs and deserves.

Phone services now come in various types. You have the hardwired telephone service that uses the public switch telephone network (PSTN). This is commonly known as the traditional, conventional telephone connection.

Now, there is another way of setting up your telephone connection. Today, phones connected to the Internet are being widely used. This type of technology, known as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is replacing traditional telephone connection at a fast pace due to its advantages over the latter.

But whatever your company has decided — landline or VoIP– your business is entitled to get the very best phone service it could get.

Here’s a list of things you should get from your phone service provider:
1. A better solution for a better price
“You get what you’ve paid for” Is a famous saying. This is particularly true in a customer-vendor relationship. Your business should get the exact phone features you are paying your provider to give you. For business owners who have made the switch to VoIP, you should feel one salient advantage: cheaper cost for phone system.

A phone service provider should give you what you have paid for. If you switched from one service provider to another, you should experience a better phone solution at a better price.
2. Great customer service and technical support
Customer relations should be a top priority of your phone service provider. How would you know if they value you as one of their customers? You can easily spot it. Great customer service involves striving to be visible and accessible to customers all the time. The provider should offer several ways of contacting their customer service representatives and tech support. If your phone provider offers toll-free numbers, live chat on their website, and other means of communicating from and to their clients, then you are in good hands.

Accessibility is not the only thing that counts. You have to consider the quality of the customer service as well. Are the representatives and tech support personnel knowledgeable enough to answer your questions? How about their manner of speaking? Are they polite and pleasant?
3. Phone features you really need
Phone services available nowadays offer a wide selection of plans and features applicable to any type of business and household. There are a lot to choose from, and you might find yourself lost due to the abundance of features. However, you have to remember that you should get only the features you really need. You do not have to get a feature that would be useless to your business.

Now some providers might intentionally bombard with you wonderful phone features. This is one way some salesmen do to catch their potential customers off-guard. The potential customers, overloaded with so many things they have heard and seen, eventually say yes to whatever the salesmen suggested.

To prevent this from happening to you, list down first the features you need. You can also provide them priority numbers to better guide you. This way, you are certain that you get exactly what you need from your phone service provider.

Phones have been the latest gadgets to get the 3D treatment and the LG Optimus 3D and the HTC EVO 3D have been the first two devices to be given the power. Both of these devices offer a 3D experience without the need for glasses and some technological wizardry – but are they any good.

The LG looks similar to most other Optimus LGs, though it is a larger version of the phones and is nearly 12mm thick due to the technology we suspect. The phone itself is a bit of an unattractive beast with a metal strip on the back the only thing to break up the device. The phone comes with 4 capacitive buttons at the bottom of the phone and a switch to turn 3D on and off.

The device has a 4.3inch screen that shows 480x800p and obviously offers 3D abilities. The screen is good, though not as good as the LG Optimus 2X’s. The device runs Android 2.2 – a little behind for something over £500 for the handset on its own, which can then be added with some cheap SIM only deals.

Though, LG have added a few tweaks which come off well. The device feels sluggish however and there is no wow factor to using it, only headaches after about 30 minutes of 3D or so. The 3D is good, though the novelty may wear off before the headache arrives, with the sweet-spot quite limited unless you are directly in front of the phone which is a shame.

The camera is a 5mp one and records stills and video with great depth, though the phone resets to 2D after every photo which is irritating.

Unfortunately the HTC is not much better and is very similar to the HTC Sensation, albeit a lower quality version with 3D. The phone’s screen is duller; the phone is heavier and thicker and just doesn’t seem as fast or as well put together as the Sensation.

Once again the device creates headaches after only 30 minutes ad 3D use must be limited. The 3D camera is a nice addition though can only record at 2mp in 3D which is disappointing. Like the LG, the phone has a bad battery that lasts a few hours with 3D on and HTC have not included the Watch app, which allows film streaming – this is a shame and could have been an area for the phone to prosper in.

3D phones seem to be a novelty, and only a novelty – we’d recommend the LG over the HTC, though both offer a lacklustre experience when 3D is not used.

It is simply amazing to see what smartphone manufacturers are introducing to the market these days. Apple has been very successful with their iPhone smartphone lineup, and will soon introduce the new iPhone 5 in just a couple of months. Samsung, famous for outselling the iPhone 4 with its Galaxy S, is now offering the new Galaxy S II with better screen, dual-core processor, and tons of other great features. What are other smartphones available on the market?

Motorola is not going to do nothing and has recently introduced the Motorola Atrix. It is a dual-core, Nvidia Tegra-powered, smartphone that features a lot of interesting functions to cater to your needs and wants.

HTC is also introducing a new dual-core phone when they release the HTC Sensation. With that distinct sleek HTC look and an amazing Sense user interface, you will find the new HTC Sensation very appealing nonetheless.

The smartphone market is indeed very interesting these days, and they are even more appealing thanks to the numerous mobile phone deals offered by network service providers. You can easily find mobile phone deals on the web and get the smartphone you want along with the right mobile plan for a discounted price.

Bought a new mobile phone recently? If you just bought a new mobile phone – especially if you are paying for the phone without a contract – then mobile phone insurance is definitely something you need to consider getting. A good mobile phone insurance offers superb protection against unwanted circumstances.

Water damage usually isn’t covered by the manufacturer’s original warranty, so if your new Apple iPhone 4 falls into a cup of coffee Apple will not provide you with a replacement. With a good mobile insurance policy in force, however, all you have to do is file for an insurance claim and get your phone replaced in no time at all.

The same goes for accidental drops. Smartphones such as iPhone or BlackBerry tend to be more fragile, so having a good insurance policy protecting your phone against accidental damages is certainly a good thing. Although this doesn’t mean you can be reckless when handling your mobile phone, it still means you don’t have to worry too much about accidentally breaking your phone.

These two great benefits are more than enough reasons to get the best mobile phone insurance policy right away. Contact a good insurance company to know more about the insurance coverage provided.

In recent years CCTV or Close Circuit Television has grown to become one of the main deterrents to crime and anti-social behaviour. The presence of a camera will deter the criminal as they know that there is higher risk of them being caught for the crime that they commit. Being prosecuted for a crime is enough to put a lot of criminals off. As well as public areas being protected by CCTV more homes are now having the surveillance equipments fitted. With alarms and CCTV your home can have a surveillance system that will protect to the highest standard.

Homes can be the target for a lot of un-organised crime. Not only does it cost a lot of money for the home owner to replace items stolen but it can also ruin lives and force people to move home. Home owners often feel uncomfortable in a their home once it has be burgled so they tend to move home soon after. Insurance premiums will rise once you have claimed so not only will you pay in the short term but also over the long term also.

Adding a surveillance system to your property can be simple and relatively cheap, it is surprising as to why more homes do not take these precautions. CCTV can work best at the front and back of your property and at any other entry points. By making this the key areas you are normally catching the entry and exits points that the intruder will use. Not only will the CCTV protect against intruders but you can also check who is at the front door before you go to it. The CCTV cameras outside of your home can be linked to your television inside so you can get the picture of what is outside. Often intruders will knock the front door and barge their way in and tie up the home owner. This has been the case with a lot of elderly people when they are too old and frail to fight back. CCTV can also help to prosecute intruders as it acts as evidence in court.

Satellite internet provides high speed internet service to those who live in rural areas outside of the normal grid. In some cases, it may simply be a new development that will in time be joined to the already existing networks. In other cases, the situation is more permanent. In either case, getting your internet via a satellite is a pricey option, but the only one other than dial-up for some people. If you are one of those people, you may wonder how good the service is that they provide, and whether or not it’s worth the money to pay for it.

You do get decent high speed broadband through satellite internet. Most providers currently offer speeds between 768 Kbps and 5.0 Mbps, which is equivalent to most DSL packages. However, there is also a time lapse in the signal received from the satellite, which means that live streaming video, gaming and VOiP become difficult. In order to get a connection fast enough to handle these, you have to pay for the very premium service, which is also very pricey. Service can also be affected by the weather, and if you life next to a mountain that blocks your southern access to the sky, it may not work for you.

Satellite internet also requires special equipment, which can be expensive, and installation fees. Try to find a service which is currently offering a discount on the setup costs. Typically, it will cost you anywhere from 300 up to even 600 dollars just to get everything in place. With monthly service fees running between 50 and 150 dollars, depending on the speed you require, satellite internet is definitely the costliest option out there. It is certainly not something you should consider getting if you have access to either cable internet or DSL. If, however, your only other way to get online is through a dial-up connection, you may find it to be a bargain.

Betavine Social Exchange is a mobile solutions development website aimed at making a social impact as well. Betavine Social Exchange essentially aims at connecting various NGOs striving for mobile solutions to share the various problems and challenges faced by them with their community members and developers.

The Betavine Social Exchange invites NGOs to post a challenge outlining their particular problems and needs. Betavine’s principal manager, Steve Wolak, believes that after a challenge has been posted, each and every member of the community is welcome to take part in the discussion. When a technological solution is reached by a mobile developer, he/she has to upload it to a solutions section, where Betavine’s Social Exchange partner organisations may choose to lend a hand in the project’s execution.

Betavine hopes to carry the existing mobile developing talents to the social development scenario as well, with the introduction of Social Exchange. Vodafone is an organisation which is keenly interested in utilising mobile phones for social development. Being one of the largest telecommunications network in the world (Operating in over 25 countries, also with partner networks in over 40 countries), it is not hard for Vodafone to make a heavy social impact with the resources possessed by it. Notable social contributions by the Vodafone Foundation include funding the UN Foundation’s Technology Project and the m-Health Alliance as well. It has been actively financing m-Health projects in and around South Africa as well.

The primary reason for Betavine’s popularity and mass appeal has to be the fact that registration is not bounded by any fee or requirement. Anyone with an internet connection can register himself/herself as a member of the Betavine community for free. All members are capable of downloading and editing any application, giving their views on any discussion topics and creating and commenting on blog posts.

From a developer’s point of view, one can easily upload his/her own application and get important feedback from other users of the forums. It is a great platform to showcase for budding developers to showcase their talent. There are also various competitions and opportunities for students to look out for. Students are also offered internships and “externships” by Vodafone Betavine. The competitions taking place in the community are varied, where some are only for students, while others are open for all to participate in.

At the start of 2008, Vodafone Betavine introduced its mobile internet website, making use of the .mobi internet domain. Betavine.mobi was launched with aim of making the applications uploaded on betavine even more accessible than before for mobile users. The mobile site even helps users to directly download compatible applications compatible by detecting the user’s mobile device.

Betavine collaborated with Vodafone Spain in May 2008, in the process linking the Vodafone Live portal directly with betavine.mobi. The total dotMobi downloads mentioned on the main Betavine website clearly suggest that the mobile portal is capable of making a tremendous impact on the volume of applications downloaded worldwide.
